The Health Compass

The chances are that you have tried at some time in your life to make a healthy change in your life which you were unable to sustain. The

“Health Compass”
could be everything that you need to succeed.

Why do people so often fail to achieve their health goals? Much of the time it is simply because they don’t know what they need to do or they don’t know how to do it.

The Health Compass looks at all you need to know about weight, diet, exercise, smoking and alcohol consumption and takes you in simple steps through how to practically fit it into your life…no matter what your circumstances.

Dr Beth de Sousa, who has worked at Honiton surgery for many years, says:

“There is a huge amount of information in the media which focuses on these areas, but I have been frustrated by the lack of a single source which pulls all of this information together under one umbrella; after all these areas are inextricably linked.

When my patients want to lose weight, my advice is that not only should they look at what they eat and drink, but also they should be exercising more. When patients want to stop smoking, I advise them that they need to watch what they eat and increase their exercise level in order to avoid gaining weight. For patients who are interested in exercising more I tell them to look at what they are eating and drinking as a way of improving their health and their performance.

I believe we should all have equal access to a healthy lifestyle. The journey by which we achieve this is not always obvious. I therefore decided to write a lifestyle guide to help you move towards better health.”
