Dr Button's maternity leave

During Dr Button's maternity leave Dr Andy Barker will be available to see those patients who normally see her. Although Dr Suzanne Ingram job shares with Dr Button and patients may have been told they are registered with her in the past it will not be possible for her to cover all patients during the time she is at the surgery as she is part-time. Patients are being encouraged to see Dr Barker if they would normally consider Dr Button as their usual GP.

Improvements to our appointments system

In an attempt to make it easier for you to make appointments we extended our working hours on 1st July 2008. Early morning appointments are available on Mondays and there are additional surgeries running on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. In addition we have restructured our appointments and aim to be able to offer appoinmtments within 48 hours (2 working days). We encourage patients to see their usual doctor for ongoing problems – it may not be possible to offer an appointment with your own doctor within this timescale. Please be prepared to plan ahead when an appointment with a specific doctor is required.

We continue to be available everyday for telephone advice; patients requesting same day appointments will be generally called back by the duty doctor. We have found that a lot of problems can be sorted out over the 'phone.
